As we walked across the Mackinac Bridge, there
were several places where ramps had been added to make it easier to cross
the small hump between the middle lanes. At the center of the suspended
portion of the bridge there were cones and many people stopping for photos
or a break. At the time we passed the center, it appeared that most people
were not turning back, but were walking all the way across.

There were many monarch butterflies passing us as we walked,
with the number increasing throughout the walk until there were some around
almost constantly as we approached Mackinaw City.
