Branson Visit
September 19-21, 2003

Sunday morning, I retraced part of the route from the Duck tour. I was going to visit Point Royal, the subdivision where most of the celebrities live, but the enterance had a gate..

I visited the nature center & fish hatchery below the Table Rock Dam and fed the fish. About 800,000 10 inch trout are raised each year. Most are used to stock Taneycomo, the 90 year old lake starting below the Table Rock Dam.

Tours of the dam were discontinued after 911, but I stopped at the Corps of Engineers visitors center. The hatchery is worth the visit, but the visitors center is only good for its gift shop. I visited a scenic overlook south of town, then returned to Branson to explore the old town before heading home. The most interesting thing, to me, in the old part of town was a '60s train which takes tours.
