Memories of Mackinaw - history of Mackinaw City & the Straits of Mackinac

Memories of Mackinaw
is a history of Mackinaw City and the Mackinac Straits. It was compiled by Mackinaw City Woman's Club members, Judy Ranville & Nancy Campbell and published in 1976 by Little Traverse Publishing.

There is no index and the table of contents is fairly limited. I have listed the names of individuals or families that have at least a paragraph of mention or a fairly large photograph, and may have missed some of those. Some of these individuals or families have entire chapters devoted to them. There are hundreds more names with one line mentions. I have included many of them, but don't pretend that this index is complete.

In addition to Mackinaw City, the Mackinac Bridge, ferries & Straits and Fort Michilimackinac, the book discusses nearby portions of Cheboygan and Emmet County including Wawatam Township, Mackinaw Township, Wilderness State Park, Trails End Bay and Cecil Bay.

Memories of Mackinaw has many great chapters and background about Mackinaw City. If you decide you would like a copy, they are sold by the Mackinaw area Public LIbrary.
