Morning view from our room at Hotel Coral Reef Resort Monday - Day 4 We slept in this morning and then walked the shore near Hotel Coral Reef Resort. I particularly enjoyed watching three surfers in the distance. We also visited some of the shops in Old Kappa Town which had been closed on Saturday night. I checked out the glass blowers while Linda purchased a Koa Wood necklace at Calabash Wearable Wood.
We were doing the Kauai Rum Safari at 1:30, so we decided to have lunch at noon in the same building at The Plantation House by Gaylords. A lovely setting. My fish and chips were quite good and Linda enjoyed her shrimp scampi. Service has been a little slow and a few minutes before 1PM, I ordered Plantation Pie and asked for the check, telling the server we had a tour coming up and didn't have much time left. The check came out in a few minuites, but the frozen pie took another 15 minutes and I just took a few rushed bites. The pie is described as Lappert's Vanilla ice cream, macadamia nut brittle, pineapple, caramel and graham cracker crust, but I really don't remember much about it. It looks good in the picture.
